Caesaraugusta Forum Museum
The Caesaraugusta Forum is part of the Césaraugusta route which also includes the Theatre, the Baths and the River Port.
The forum was a public square surrounded by important buildings and structures, where citizens gathered to carry out commercial, political and social activities. It was a crucial place for the life of the city and reflected the influence and power of Rome in the region.
The Forum was a porticoed square where the most significant buildings that fulfilled different functions were located: the Curia, meeting place of the local Senate; the basilica, for the administration of justice; the temple, intended for official worship; and taverns or commercial premises.
In the Forum Museum of Caesaraugusta the archaeological remains of a commercial area and drinking water pipes, a sewer and shop walls from the time of Augustus, as well as the Cloaca Maxima are preserved.
Today, archaeological remains of the Forum of Caesaraugusta can be found in the Forum Museum of Caesaraugusta, which houses exhibitions providing detailed information on the history and importance of the forum in the life of the city during Roman times.
