The Inheritance, microtheater at the Hotel Sauce
With the help of the Saragossa Hotel Association and Provincia Horeca Hoteles, the second edition of the Lo Tuyo es Puro Teatro microtheater competition arrives in Saragossa.
An action that is offered to the visitor, but also designed for the enjoyment of the Aragonese public. Actions in which culture is opened to the hotels of Saragossa and which seek to launch the message of hospitality of the destination, through the hotel accommodations.
Short performances, barely five minutes long, but very intimate, with the audience attached to the artists and helping to create a unique atmosphere.
Theater up close, away from the stage, in surprising scenarios that last just five minutes and in full interaction with the spectators. And we are pleased to inform you that after last year’s sensational experience, Mi HABITACIÓN favorita has been selected as the setting for one of the performances. Stay tuned because we will keep you informed.

Interview with Teresa Rubira, author of The Testament
This weekend The Hotel Sauce cafeteria, the Hotel Sauce cafeteria becomes the scene of a theater performance. A short and intimate performance that we call microtheater and that places the spectators right in the center of the action. Our previous experience in this microtheater competition could not have been more gratifying, and the play we will see this Saturday promises not to leave us indifferent.
The Testament is a fun comedy with two characters who chat in a bar along with the waitress. The author, Teresa Rubira, poet recently awarded for Un Soneto Para Soria, born in Híjar and based in Valencia, has answered some questions and we want to share them with you.

How did she decide to submit her text to this microtheater competition?
Because I admire these initiatives, because I like microtheater, and because it was in my country.
Small format theater represents a narrative challenge. In just a few minutes you have to present, develop and conclude a plot. How have you approached it?
Well… since there is no time to philosophize, I prepared a light-hearted text; It lends itself more to the small format.
In this performance, the actors are very close to the audience, almost interacting. How does the disappearance of the fourth wall affect writing?
I love ignoring that fourth wall! In fact, in my latest work “Five Minutes Left,” I tried very deliberately. In microtheater it is easier.
And yes, of course it affects when thinking about the text but, above all, when considering the staging.
The Inheritance stars people of a certain age, something unusual in current productions. Is it something premeditated in the work?
Yes, I interact a lot with groups of older people and they have a special grace and charm. It has been very premeditated.
We know that in addition to theater you write poetry. What branch of literature fulfills you the most?
Both fulfill me, but I tend to dedicate myself more to poetry.
And finally our two fetish questions: What absurd object cannot be missing in your suitcase?
A thermometer. Quite absurd if we take into account that I have had a fever four times in my life.
What is the strangest or funniest thing that has happened to you in a hotel?
Well… we were returning from doing the Tour of Mont Blanc on foot. Hungry, disheveled and with backpacks on our backs, we wanted to celebrate in a good hotel restaurant with many stars. Seeing our appearance, they placed us in a very discreet place, hahahaha, and for dessert they brought out a basket full of all kinds of fruits (my passion “not tasted” in twelve days). Being cautious, I took just one, thinking that they would charge per piece, and there was great fear that we wouldn’t have enough to pay the bill. I have regretted it all my life! I still dream about them!
I want to take this opportunity to thank María Rosa Rodriguez, Alicia Asín and Jesús Alzuet. They are the people who will represent “The Inheritance.” Components of the KairosTeatro group of Saragossa, they call themselves amateurs, but I consider them great professionals, with 17 years behind them representing more than thirty towns throughout Aragon, that’s what I call love for theater! And it is a great honor for me that they decided, so selflessly and without knowing me, to accept the challenge. I wish you the best! My full trust in them.
